Lizzie, the Magical DogLizzie the Magical Dog is a book inspired by the first Newfoundland dog I ever met; her name was Lizzie. Her twinkling eyes and sassy ways made me fall in love with her. She was my daughter's dog, and ever since the time I babysat her, I knew I had to get a Newfoundland dog of my own.
I researched the breed extensively, and spent hours watching videos and reading all about this incredible water dog. One night, the entire story just came into my mind, and I began writing it out. It took me three years after meeting Lizzie to find my own Newfoundland dog - my Samson, who is now ten years old. Lizzie passed away at ten years old, but will never, ever be forgotten. My granddaughter lived with Lizzie for the very last years of her life, and I hope my little book will also help keep the memory of this special dog alive for her. MAGIC!
Magical is the word for this book. My grandkids laughed and cried when we read this story. It is sweet and creative. Long enough to have story details for grownups but short enough to read to young kids. The illustrations are precious. Your family will love it.

This enchanting little book was given to me as a gift last Christmas by someone who loves Newfoundlands dogs. Surprisingly, there is a lot of interesting information about the wonderful characteristics of this breed of dog, all packed into a story that crosses over from a children's fantasy book to an inspiring little novel about loyalty, hope and faith. There is a considerably more to the story than what is available on the Amazon preview.
